Everyone processes and creates differently, and everyone has different variables in their lives, like children, other jobs, trauma… I need a lot of integration space and alone time, however, I am a mom and don’t get a lot of that, so that means I can hold space for fewer people at a time and I extend time between meetings and projects. I price accordingly, to work with me, means that you are a perfect match and we see each other’s value, no settle vibes for clients- you will always regret it!
How I begin every week:
On Sunday I set myself up for my week. I go into my office, plug in my computer, organize my desk and then I brain dump. I make a list of everything on my mind. Don’t make the rookie mistake of thinking you will get it all don’t on Monday, be honest with yourself and schedule the tasks throughout the week.
MY TIPS- Prioritize what is timely and important, what needs creative space, and what needs focus and what can be crammed together like tasks (pay bills, schedule apts, etc) there’s nothing worse than looking at a to-do list on monday and not knowing where to start, and it all feels equally important.
An Example:
GOAL: Create email sales sequence in flow desk
TASK 1: Design template
TASK 2: Write Copy for each email
TASK 3: Collect images or design images for each portion
TASK 4: Record loom video for assistant on direction
TASK 5: Upload copy, images and video in shared drive folders for team
MY TIPS- Notice how many different tasks there are, notice some are creative and some are more linear. Know when to schedule those things according to your energy and other items on your schedule.
Every aspect of the task gets plugged in. Pay attention to how you book your time. Make sure creative activities are paired with other creative activities or maybe end of day, beginning of day- wherever feels most creative for you. I like to do them beginning of day and then revisit them end of day to revise and edit.
When booking clients or meetings, I time block them together w very little space between, so that I can be in the zone holding space and my creative work isn’t getting interrupted and vise versa.
MY TIPS:
Take 2 days off a week- I take the weekends, because I have a daughter, but maybe for you it’s Sunday, Monday or Tuesday Wednesday- you choose, but try to keep it the same weekly so you can create a rhythm in your life.
Make sure you have clear office hours and clear boundaries for what you do inside those hours every week.
AN EXAMPLE OF MY SCHEDULE:
Monday- Friday: 8:30am Drop Samaya off at school / 9:30am- 11am Workout/meditation
Monday- 11am-5pm Admin Day (no client meetings, only team meetings)
Tuesday- 11am-4pm Client Meetings
Wednesday- 11 am- 4pm Creative work
Thursday- 11am-4pm Client Meetings
Friday- 11 am- 4pm Creative work, work out of office or content creation
Take mental health days or even just mental health breaks- what does that look like? Sometimes it looks like moving all my calls, sometimes it looks like just moving 1-2 to give me the rest of the day off. Im not doing anyone any good if I am not well and in any sort of overwhelm or trauma response (aka shutdown, fight, flight, chaos)
Be intuitive with what your business needs- sometimes we set goals that sound ideal, but they are not necessarily what will create a happy life and business balance. Sometimes we think we need to do all these things, because everyone else is- but in fact, what’s best for you is something completely different. Setting your business up in alignment with what makes you feel spacious, joyful and ready to serve is what’s sustainable. It is not sustainable for your energy to run on someone elses blueprint, you are not a robot! You have your own unique chemistry, experiences, life variables, circumstances, human design, astrology, and healing you are doing. If things feel off, change the navigation.
